Plans and billing

Your JustBook subscription is priced on two independent axes — a tier (which features you get) and a size (how many locations and bookable stylists you get). You can change either one at any time from Settings → Subscription.

This page is about the plan you pay JustBook for. It is separate from the deposits and payments your customers pay you.

Every subscription combines one tier with one size:

  • Tier sets which features are enabled. Tiers run from Starter to Growth to Pro — each step up unlocks more of the product.
  • Size sets your limits — how many locations (branches) and how many bookable stylists you can have:

Need more than 3 locations or 25 bookable stylists? Contact us for a custom plan.

Tier and size move independently: you can be on a higher tier at the smallest size, or the entry tier at the largest size. Each tier card in the plan picker has a size dropdown showing your price for that combination, monthly or annual — annual billing gives you 2 months free.

Seats count bookable stylists only. A seat is used by each stylist who can be booked. Logins that don’t take appointments — owners, admins, receptionists — are unlimited and never count against your size.

  1. Open Settings → Subscription.
  2. The Current Plan card shows your tier, size, price, billing cycle (monthly or annual), status, and renewal date.

From this card you can also:

  • Manage Billing — opens your secure billing portal to update your card or download invoices.
  • Switch to annual / Switch to monthly — change your billing cycle.
  • Cancel at Period End — schedule a cancellation (see below).

An upgrade is any change that gives you more — a higher tier, a larger size, or both.

  1. Open Settings → Subscription.
  2. In Change Plan, pick the new tier card and choose a size from its dropdown.
  3. Confirm. You’ll see a preview of what changes before you commit.

Upgrades take effect immediately. Your new features and higher limits are available right away, and your billing is adjusted for the rest of the current period.

A downgrade is any change that gives you less — a lower tier, a smaller size, or both.

  1. Open Settings → Subscription.
  2. In Change Plan, pick the lower tier card or a smaller size and confirm. You’ll see a preview of what you’ll lose first.

Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, so you keep everything you’re paying for until then. On the next renewal, your new tier and size apply.

If a downgrade puts you over your new limits

Section titled “If a downgrade puts you over your new limits”

If the smaller size you chose has fewer locations or bookable-stylist seats than you’re currently using, JustBook asks you — as part of confirming the downgrade — to choose which branches stay active and which stylists stay bookable. That choice is applied when the downgrade takes effect at your next cycle. Nothing is removed before then, and stylists removed from booking keep their login and history — they just stop appearing on your booking page.

A feature you lose on a downgrade is locked, not erased. The data behind it stays in place, read-only, so if you upgrade again later it comes back exactly as you left it. You never lose your setup, history, or content by moving down a tier.

Switch between monthly and annual billing from the Current Plan card using Switch to annual or Switch to monthly.

  1. Open Settings → Subscription.
  2. On the Current Plan card, select Cancel at Period End, then confirm.

When you cancel:

  • You keep full access until the end of your current billing period.
  • After that, your booking page goes offline — customers see a not-found page and can’t book. You can still log in and preview your site.
  • If you don’t reactivate within the notice window shown in the cancellation notice, your account is deactivated and you lose access.
  • Reactivating restores everything — your setup, branding, and history are all kept, and your booking page comes back online automatically (unless you had taken it offline yourself from Settings → Booking Settings).

To undo a scheduled cancellation, open Settings → Subscription and select Reactivate Subscription.

If you have a promo code, enter it in the Promo code field under Change Plan and select Check. A valid code shows the discount it applies before you commit. Only one promo can be active on a subscription at a time; remove the current one first to apply a different code.

Select Manage Billing on the Current Plan card to open your secure billing portal, where you can update your payment method, view billing history, and download invoices.
