Import from Square

Moving from Square (or Square Appointments)? Export your customer directory there, then import the file here.

  1. In your Square Dashboard, open Customers → Customer directory.
  2. Choose Import/Export → Export Customers.
  3. Pick All Customers (or a specific group) and download the CSV.

Open Customers → Import, upload the file, and follow the steps in Import your clients. Square’s columns — First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and Memo (notes) — are matched automatically; just review the matching and confirm.

Square’s address and birthday columns have no dedicated JustBook field. Tick Add ignored columns into the customer’s notes to keep them as text on each customer’s record.

Card details are never in the export — from Square or any other system. Card-network security rules (PCI) prohibit every platform, JustBook included, from exporting stored cards in a file. Your clients enter their card again the first time they book or pay with you.

One Square-specific note: Square runs a card-on-file migration programme that can transfer stored cards directly to another certified payment processor (never through a spreadsheet). If keeping cards on file matters to your business, contact us and we’ll tell you whether that route is available for your setup.

Appointment history can’t be imported — your booking history starts fresh in JustBook.
